Today I tested an iphone pedometer app . I wanted to see if it worked as well as my 340. Initially, the steps counted were equal. However, on my walk, for some reason the iPhone app stopped counting. I will test it out again and try and figure out what went wrong.
While on my walk, I decided to stop at Loblaw. I noticed a while back an advertisement for a free cardiovascular risk assessment from the Loblaw pharmacy. I was curious. This is what I learned.
The Loblaw pharmacy is offering a free cardio assessment. You need to book and appointment. They will require your personal information, they will also ask questions about your medical history and family history and then this info will be fed into a computer program. You will then be given a personalized printout of your risk of developing heart disease given the info you provided. Sounded good to me, except, when I enquired about where my personal health info went, I could not get a direct answer. The person answering my questions seemed to think Apotex kept the info. Wow, I’m not sure I want I pharmaceuticul company owning my personal info. I would have participated had I been able to maintain my anominity. I would then have brought the info to my MD. How healthy is my heart? I’ll let my MD assess that.
Tomorrow I will….reassess the iPhone pedometer app.
